The Yorkton Regional 4-H Beef Show and Sale was held as part of the annual Yorkton Exhibition. While storm conditions kept some expected participants at home, the event still attracted 4H clubs and their members from throughout the region.

STARS initiates first air transfusion service

The Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society (STARS) is the first medical service in Canada to begin stocking blood in advance for life-saving transfusions on air medical missions. The STARS base in Saskatoon is now the third base to come on line.

Government approves SGI hikes

The provincial government has approved a 3.4 per cent overall increase to Saskatchewan Government Insurance's (SGI) Saskatchewan Auto Fund vehicle rates, along with rate rebalancing, and a one per cent increase to the capital amount on all rates.
