Last five Rocanville miners free

After 16 hours, the final five miners trapped in the potash mine at Rocanville due to an early morning fire are home. PotashCorp reported early Tuesday morning that a cable reel located in the Rocanville mine was burning.

With the help of a number of volunteers supplying combines, trucks and time the Yorkton Terriers harvested a major fundraiser Friday. Seed to Score is a new fundraising effort in support of the local Junior Hockey Club initiated in the spring.

There will likely be no election for Catholic school trustees on October 24. As of September 19 when nominations closed, only nine people had come forward for the 10 board positions.
