After a tense start to the new year, members of the Canora branch of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation were able to breath a collective sigh of relief on January 12 when branch executive was re-organized.

In the six-team tournament Saturday and Sunday, which included Canora Red and Canora Black Cobras teams, Preeceville won the A-side final. Yorkton won the B-side final and Kamsack won the C-side.

To address the dwindling interest in junior curling in the Canora area, a curling clinic was organized for January 10 and the organizer was pleasantly surprised when 28 youth signed up from Canora, Preeceville, Sturgis, Norquay, Kamsack and Yorkton.

On January 9, 18 players involved in atom and peewee-aged hockey took a shooting and scoring clinic at the Civic Centre offered by Jeff Cole of Moosomin.
