Alan Holmberg will be the new mayor for the Town of Sturgis, effective at the November regular meeting of town council.
Holmberg, who succeeds Mayor Don Olson, was unopposed, said Olivia Bartch, administrator.
There are 17 persons nominated for the six councillors’ seats. They are: Dale Bashforth, Alain Basilieres, Jennifer Bayer, Donald Carlson, Heather Godlien, Terry Hancock, Perry Keller, Don Kurulak, Michael Messenger, Conrad Peterson, Amber Pristie, Walter Rose, Kim Ryzcak, Sarah Seversen, Sheri Skogen, Bert Suknasky and Daniel Wasylenchuk.
Voters will go to the polls on October 26 at the Sturgis Community Hall. Advance polls will be held at the town office.
