CRYSTAL LAKE — Rory Allen, an Elvis Presley impersonator, kept the beach packed audience entertained all evening during the Crystal Lake Beach Concert on July 5. Concert goers were encouraged to bring their lawn chairs to sit on during the performance as it was held on the sandy beach. This was the third annual concert on the beach with the first concert featuring Jeffrey Striker.
“The event went over really well, with over 250 persons in attendance and the weather was great,” said one of the organizers.
Saskatchewan’s own Rory Allen is a much-loved and respected professional entertainer who draws capacity crowds with his phenomenal vocal talent, charisma, and audience rapport. Allen has achieved a successful full-time music career in the Saskatchewan marketplace and beyond for over 25 years.
Allen has performed with the Regina Symphony Orchestra, 50’s group Danny and the Juniors, as well as with the Dove-Award winning quartet, Elvis Presley’s Imperials.
He has also been privileged to sing and record on several occasions with Grammy Award-winning quartet, the legendary Jordanaires. Allen's last performances with the Jordanaires not only raised much-needed money and awareness for the Regina Food Bank, but the resulting live concert CD In My Father’s House was nominated for a Western Canadian Music Award for Outstanding Christian Recording.
The Crystal Lake committee will also be hosting a fun in the sun event on Aug. 1-3. The weekend of fun starts off with a concert on Friday night that will feature the Kelly Brothers. The following day on Saturday, there will be a volleyball tournament, a fun relay race, bocce ball, pickleball ball and other fun activities.
