SASKATOON — Marilyn Longman had to remind herself to breathe normally after checking her LOTTO 6/49 ticket and discovering she had won $1 million on the Nov. 10 draw.

“I was in complete shock,” she said while claiming her prize in Saskatoon. “I had a hard time breathing, because I was just so excited!”

The winner said she motioned for her daughter to come over and take a look at the ticket with her.

“Honestly, I thought it was a joke at first,” she continued. “I was thinking, ‘It’s not April 1st today; it’s not April Fool’s Day. This is no joke!’”

The winner said she doesn’t have any big plans for her windfall, but is looking forward to having less financial stress in the years to come.

“I’m just happy to know that I’ll be living happily in my retirement,” she said.

Longman purchased her winning ticket from Co-op Westview Centre, located at 1624 33rd St. W in Saskatoon. She won her million-dollar prize on LOTTO 6/49’s Guaranteed Prize draw with the number 31085475-02.
