Nicole Rolfes of Lloyminister was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in January of 2012, but was not about to let the disease get her down. Her love and passion for snowmobiling turned into a mission to raise awareness and funds for research.
Rolfes organized a snowmobile event called the Believe Sled Ride to End MS. The ride took her and a group of five others along 1,100 km of trails from Goodsoil on February 21 and concluded in Yorkton on February 29. The ride saw them travelling through Meadow Lake, Big River, Christopher Lake, Nipawin, Hudson Bay, Preeceville, and concluded in Yorkton on the final day.
The group was escorted into Preeceville by Scott Shuba of the Roughrider Snowmobile Club and the riders spent the night in Preeceville before they concluded their journey to Yorkton.
