The Norquay Blue Christmas Service was held December 16 at the Norquay NICE Centre. Velda Dahlin of the United Church welcomed everyone and gave the call to worship, while the invocation prayer was given by Sylvia Lozinski of St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church.

Scripture reading (Psalm 139) was given by Dianne Romanow of Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church. Natasha Westerhoud of the Covenant Church shared a poem and scripture. The hymns Silent Night and Oh Little Town of Bethlehem were sung. A scripture reading (Luke 2, 1-20) was given by Patricia Kachman.

The reflection was given by Arden Gustafson of the Covenant Church. Velda Dahlin and the Livingstone family led in the candle-lighting service.

“Refresh, restore and renew us O God, and lead us into your future. Let us remember that dawn defeats darkness, life overcomes death. Let us remember the One who shows us the way, who brings the truth and the light,” it was said.

Remembrance candles were lit, and the hymn A Candle is Burning, closed the service after a closing blessing by Natasha Westerhoud.
