Bredenbury Council met Tuesday, January 26, 2021, starting at 4:30 P.M. with an in-camera presentation.
Next, the council reviewed the agenda before Councillor Trowell made a motion to accept it; the motion carried.
The council moved on to the minutes of the last meeting before Councillor Reykjalin made a motion to accept the minutes as reviewed; motion carried.
The council reviewed the town’s accounts. Councillor Trowell made a motion to accept the town’s accounts; motion carried.
The Bank Reconciliation Report was next to be reviewed by the council. Councillor Burman made a motion to accept the Bank Reconciliation Report as reviewed; motion carried.
The Maintenance Report was next to be reviewed by the council. The Town of Bredenbury Maintenance Foreman presented to answer any questions the council had. The grader was discussed as it is getting older, the gravel truck received an inspection done on it. The fire pump was also discussed as it is being repaired by the foreman. The water and sewer recourse were reviewed as well as a discussion on when to clean the lagoon reservoir.
The old school was next to be discussed as the council heard an update of the work being done to turn it into a usable town-building. Councillor Burman made a motion to pay the contractor for work that has been done as well as hire an engineer; motion carried.
A snowblower purchase was next to be discussed. Councillor Chartier declared a conflict of interest. Councillor Burman made a motion to purchase a snowblower; motion carried.
The GIC will be renewed for another year. Councillor Chartier made a motion to renew the GIC; motion carried.
Next, the council discussed a donation to the East Central Health Foundation. Councillor Reykjalin made a motion to donate $500 which was carried.
The council discussed the arena next. With COVID-19 restrictions continuing as is until February 19, the council discussed opening the arena’s canteen as well. Councillor Burman made a motion to have the arena stay open; motion carried.
The council reviewed the wheelchair ramp to go into the basement of the hall. After careful review, it was decided that it is not feasible.
The virtual Municipalities of Saskatchewan meeting was next discussed. Councillors will let the administrator know if they are interested in attending.
Board of Revision was next discussed. Councillor Reykjalin made a motion to accept the past members on the Board of Revision; motion carried.
The council discussed that a budget meeting is coming up and discussed some possible budgetary expenses.
