Canora and Kamsack are now receiving free Wi-Fi access as part of an expansion that gives SaskTel the title of the largest network in Saskatchewan.

Canora and Kamsack are now receiving free Wi-Fi access as part of an expansion that gives SaskTel the title of the largest network in Saskatchewan.

SaskTel announced that in recently expanded Select Wi-Fi to Canora, Esterhazy, Humboldt, Kamsack, Kindersley, Lloydminster, Melville, Nipawin, Rosetown, and Tisdale, according to a release from SaskTel. The network provides SaskTel customers with free and unlimited internet access on over 4,100 access points in over 1,700 locations spread across 23 communities in Saskatchewan. This recent expansion has made it the largest Wi-Fi network available in the province.

“The SaskTel Select Wi-Fi Network is only available to SaskTel Wireless customers, not to those of our three competitors, Bell, Telus, or Rogers,” said Ron Styles, SaskTel president and CEO. “When paired with our wireless network, we clearly have the advantage over our competition considering that no other provider offers the coverage and free Wi-Fi data that we do. For both Saskatchewan companies and individuals, SaskTel Select Wi-Fi provides an opportunity to reduce your wireless bills while improving your coverage.”

SaskTel Select Wi-Fi is also available at some popular venues in the province including the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, the Art Hauser Centre in Prince Albert, Affinity Place in Estevan, and the Brandt Centre and Mosaic Stadium in Regina.

SaskTel wireless customers using a 4G or 4G LTE wireless device will automatically connect to the network when their device has Wi-Fi enabled. Customers using a laptop or tablet that is not connected to the SaskTel cellular network can access Wi-Fi through their mySaskTel account. Those who wish to find more information may visit the SaskTel website.

“In 2017, we will continue to look for opportunities to expand our Select Wi-Fi network and improve the experience we offer our customers,” said Styles.
