The suspension of a Councillor for multiple violations and the sale of residential lots by auction were among the items of concern to town council at its regular meeting on October 1.
Council went in camera to discuss matters under the council code of ethics.
Following his failure to declare a conflict of interest at the August 20 council meeting and failure to properly update his public disclosure statement, contrary to Section 142 of The Municipalities Act and the council code of conduct and ethics bylaw, council suspended Councillor Brent Pelechaty from attending all council meetings for 180 days, effective immediately.
