Canora students to welcome a new principal and two teachers

Returning to classrooms on September 5, Canora students will be greeting a principal and two teachers new to the school, while at Invermay students will be welcoming two new teachers.

            Returning to classrooms on September 5, Canora students will be greeting a principal and two teachers new to the school, while at Invermay students will be welcoming two new teachers.

            Although the students of Good Spirit School Division return to class on September 5, teacher assistants (TAs) will be at work beginning August 25; teachers, August 29, and EAs on August 30.

            Cindy Smith, the new principal of the Canora Composite School. The two teachers new to the staff are Paul Geerdts and Simone Homeniuk.

Kim Eiteneier returns as the vice-principal of the school, while returning teachers are: Curtis Baillie, Koren (nee Pitkethly) Baillie, Helen Forbes, Andrew Hoffman, Leona Kitchen, Colin Knight, Llewellyn Thomas Lowes, Dutin Nielsen, Ronda O’Dell, Kelly Perepeluk-Nieckar, Nathan Seghers, Jennifer Sleeva, Cindy Sznerch and Karen Wilgosh.

Shelley Thiessen is the new administrative assistant on the staff. She joins Michelle Sliva.

Educational assistants are: Michelle Anaka, Linda Dyck, Lorraine Gress and Debra Hort. Jennifer Bisschop is the library technician and Melodie Berehula, Christopher Donovan and Max Zbitniff are the caretakers.

At the Canora Junior Elementary School, the only person new to the staff is Trudy Tuttle, an educational assistant. Rod Steciuk returns as principal, while returning teachers are: Alexandria Blatter, Eugene Chorneyko, Christine Danyluk, Patti-Jo Donovan, Rhonda Exner, Allyson Grywacheski, Lesley Miles, Lindsey Ostafie, Jennifer Prychak, Lisa Strozen, Scott Vaughan and Darla Zayshley.

Kim Hladun is the administrative assistant, Bev Hadubiak, the library technician, and Catherine Spokes, the caretaker. Educational assistants are Connie Dunbar, Bev Hadubiak, Shirley Kulcheski and Lisa St. Mars.

The two teachers new to the Invermay School are Paul Geerdts and Seok Cheng Teh, who join returning principal Melissa Grona and returning teachers Brenda Carbno, Jennifer Currah, Diana Enge, Nathan Hrynchyshyn, Dalice Nelson and Nathan Seghers.

Three of the school’s educational assistants are new to the staff. They are: Ashley Davis, Michelle Glas and Karlie Kowalchuk. They join returning EAs Angela Andreas and Karen Dubas.

Barb Dawe is the administrative assistant; Tim Chodak, caretaker, and Marie Grychowski, the library technician.

Also working with the staffs and students in the northern part of the division are: Gary Scheffler, educational psychologist; Maureen Blight, occupational therapist; Craig Folk, Alison Kawa (new to the Division staff) and Miranda Reilkoff-Leis, school counsellors; Jill Craig and Carolyne Psutka, speech language pathologists; Bonnie Jones, speech language pathologist assistant, and Adelle Kopp McKay, student services co-ordinator.
