CCS raises funds for Terry Fox Run

It’s been a number of years since the students and staff of the Canora Composite School organized a Terry Fox Run, but there was one this year, said Principal Kim Eiteneier.

It’s been a number of years since the students and staff of the Canora Composite School organized a Terry Fox Run, but there was one this year, said Principal Kim Eiteneier.

When going over the annual information from the Terry Fox Foundation, the teachers noted that about 8,000 schools across the country were holding a run on September 30 and it was agreed that CCS should be part of it.

Rather than solicit pledges, each student and staff member was encouraged to donate a toonie and for about a half hour, all the students and staff walked or ran around the school’s oval track, said Eiteneier.

With a little assistance from the Student Representative Council, a donation of $500 was made to the Terry Fox Foundation, he said.

“The kids had a lot of fun participating,” said Eiteneier.
