Cote First Nation man charged in connection to death

A 33-year-old Cote First Nation man has been charged in connection to the death of a 22-year-old Cote man. The RCMP have arrested and charged Chester Whitehawk, 33, in relation to the death of Chad COTE, 20, said a release from the RCMP.

Cote was located deceased late February 20 in a residence on the Cote First Nation following a call for police attendance, the release said. Both men were known to each other and both reside on Cote First Nation.

Whitehawk has been charged with one count of second-degree murder and was in Kamsack Provincial Court on February 23.

Investigational assistance was provided by RCMP Major Crime North and Yorkton Forensic Identification Section.

Police are not seeking any other persons in relation to the incident, it said.
