Former care home worker accused of sexual assault appears in court

RCMP allege that five residents of a care facility in Hepburn were sexually assaulted

SASKATOON -  A 52-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting five adult residents in a care facility appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court Friday.

Rosthern RCMP charged Brent James Gabona with five counts of sexual assault and three counts of sexual exploitation of a person with a disability.

RCMP say that their investigation determined that between 1992 and 2009 five residents of a care facility in Hepburn were sexually assaulted. Police say Gabona hasn't worked at the facility since 2009.

Gabona appears in court again on June 14 to enter an election.
