Hockey action kicks off with exhibition games

The Preeceville atoms, novices and midgets kicked off the hockey season with exhibition games. The atoms took to the ice first, taking on Wynyard on November 14. The game was evenly matched with both teams scoring one goal in the first period.

            The atoms took to the ice first, taking on Wynyard on November 14. The game was evenly matched with both teams scoring one goal in the first period. The second period was one-sided with Wynyard taking the lead and the Pats couldn't come back. The final score was 8-5 for Wynyard. Scoring for the Pats were: Brady Kashuba, Chaz Jaeb (two goals), Kimmuel Albarracin and Kaiden Masley. Assists were made by Masley, Gerbo Javelona, Jaeb and Hudsyn Nelson.

            The Novice Pats faced off against the Kamsack Flyers on November 15. The game was very lopsided with a 22-2 win over Kamsack. Scoring for the Pats were: Mason Babiuk, six goals; Avyn Seerey, seven goals; Cole Secundiak, three goals; Bracyn Konkel, three goals; Cole Masley, two goals; and Jake Soltys. Assists were made Konkel, Seerey and Masley.

            The midgets showcased their talent in their first exhibition home game against Yorkton on November 15. The close game had the midgets skating a defensive game that paid off with a 5-4 win. Scoring for the Pats were: Cole Wiwcharuk, Tanner Kopeck, Kole Statchuk (two goals) and Bryce Pelechaty. Assists were made by Kopeck and Caleb Godfrey. The next home game for the midgets is scheduled for November 25 against Ochapowace and then on December 4 against Melville and December 5 against Langenburg.
