Hockey teams see action in the new year

The Preeceville hockey teams in the Major Hockey League have already seen action in the new year. In the atom division, the first game had the Pats travelling to Yorkton on January 3.

The Preeceville hockey teams in the Major Hockey League have already seen action in the new year.

            In the atom division, the first game had the Pats travelling to Yorkton on January 3. The Pats controlled the entire game which concluded in a 20-0 shut out. Scoring for the Pats were: Nathan Anaka (two goals), Kaiden Masley (eight goals), Zachary Sorgen (three goals), Kimmuel Albarracin (two goals), Chaz Jaeb (four goals) and Brady Kashuba. Assists were made by Albarracin, Kashuba and Mason Babiuk.

            On January 7, the Atom Pats played host to the Canora Cobras. Once again, the Preeceville atoms shut out the opposition with a 13-0 win. Scoring for the Pats were: Kaiden Masley (five goals), Brady Kashuba (two goals), Isaac Kashuba, Kimmuel Albarracin, Zachary Sorgen, Chaz Jaeb, (two goals) and Kristan Javelona. Assists were made by Masley, Anaka, Sorgen, and Jaeb.

            On January 4, the Peewee Pats defeated Yorkton 5-3 in home game action. Scoring for the Pats were: Kaiden Masley, Todd Pankratz (two goals) and Dustin Shankowsky (two goals). Assists were made by Shae Peterson and Christina Acosta.

            The Peewee Pats took on Esterhazy on January 9 and recorded a 9-6 win. Scoring for Pats were: Trever Geistlinger (three goals), Dustin Shankowsky (two goals), Jakob Turchinetz, Todd Pankratz and Seth Hort (two goals). Assists were made by Jillian Tonn, Pankratz, Hort and Shankowsky.

            The Preeceville Midgets had a busy weekend with home game action against Moosomin on January 8. The Pats fought hard but recorded a 5-3 loss. Scoring were: Tanner Kopeck (two goals) and Cole Wiwcharuk. Assists were made by Steven Kardyal.

            The next day, on January 9, had the Pats travelling to Churchbridge where they redeemed themselves with a 4-1 win. Scoring were: Tyler Shankowsky and Tanner Kopeck (three goals). Assists were made by Cole Wiwcahruk, Kole Statchuk and Tyler Shankowsky.
