Humboldt and Lanigan RCMP execute cannabis search warrant

On Jan. 18, Humboldt RCMP responded to an alarm at a non-residential building on Railway Avenue in Watson, Saskatchewan.

In the process of investigating the cause of the alarm, officers located a marihuana grow operation. With the assistance of the RCMP Prairie Region Cannabis Coordinator, Humboldt RCMP officers began investigating the grow operation and determined the marihuana was grown without a Health Canada medical license and in contravention of the Cannabis Act.

On January 30, 2021, Humboldt and Lanigan RCMP officers obtained and executed a search warrant on the property. The search was completed with assistance from the RCMP trained Clandestine Laboratory Team and the Seized Property Management Directorate.

As a result of this investigation, 424 plants at various levels of maturity along with hydroponic equipment were located and removed from the building.

The investigation is ongoing.
