On Dec. 21, at approximately 8:00 PM, a Constable from the La Loche Detachment stopped a vehicle on Highway 155 south of La Loche.
While the Constable was speaking with the driver and occupants of the car, the vehicle suddenly sped off. The Constable was dragged for 50 to 100m before coming free from the vehicle and falling to the roadway.
The Constable did suffer injuries. He was treated at the hospital and released.
Colin Evan Lemaigre, born 1987-03-09, of La Loche, SK has been charged with Assaulting a Peace Officer with a Weapon along with several other charges. A warrant has been issued for his arrest as he remains at large.
The La Loche RCMP are requesting assistance from the public in this matter.
