Ken Lavigne charmed his way into the hearts of a packed audience with his soulful, classical voice when he and his accompanying musicians entertained in Preeceville on November 7.

The Whitehawks Arts Council sponsored the event that was the first in a set of three concerts scheduled for the 2015-2016 season.

Performing across North America, Lavigna offers an exciting blend of the classical tenor sound and a more modern style. Joined by a four-piece ensemble, he took his audience on a riveting and enchanting journey as his story is unveiled revealing his personal quest to sing at Carnegie Hall with the New York Pops.

His website says he embodies the spirit of the under dog. A singer, composer, communicator and consummate entertainer, he is recognized for his outstanding  tenor voice as well as the ease and agility with which he sings.

His career has taken him in many directions which includes the theme tour “The Road to Carnegie hall.” In 2004, he was a founding member of The Canadian Tenors and in 2006 he co-founded the successful tenor trio, Romanza, which toured throughout Canada and the United States. In 2007, Lavigne shifted his focus to independently producing solo performances and recording a CD.

He made his debut at New York in 2008, accompanied by the New York Pops Orchestra. This achievement was a dream come true for him and after having received three standing ovations in New York, that debut has led to further engagements across North America. He is scheduled to perform at the Sydney Opera House in Australia in 2016.
