MacNutt discusses snow removal

On November 3, 2020, Mayor Bryan Olimb called the regularly scheduled meeting of the Village of MacNutt council to order with all members present.

The council reviewed the agenda and minutes as presented, Councillor Midgette made a motion to accept which was carried.

The council reviewed the Correspondence received by the village which included: East Central Transportation Planning Communities, Sask. Public Safety Agency, Xynyth (winter salt supplies), BlueIMP (playground equipment for sale, BLOOM (10 part webinar series) Tabled, 4imprint, Sama (2020 preliminary Audit Report), Canadian Red Cross Volunteerism (asking for the opportunity to virtually speak to the council), SUMAdvantage (now called CentralSource), Water Safety Agency (did a lagoon inspection), SaskAlert (has a program called Alertable is available), Parkland Regional Library (Director, Jian Wang has been released from his position), MacNutt Rec. Board Update and four emails from a concerned ratepayer (Oct 13, Oct 14, Oct 22 and Oct 28 were the dates of the emails). Mayor Olimb made a motion to file the Correspondence; motion carried.

The council reviewed the October 2020 Statement of Receipts and Bank Reconciliation. Councilor Andrews made a motion to accept the Financials which was carried. Carrying on, the council reviewed the Payables for the month of October. Councillor Andrews made a motion to pay the Payables which was carried.

Under Old Business, the Council reviewed the one Snow Removal Tender received. The council reviewed the tender applicant before Councillor Midgette made a motion to accept the tender; the motion carried.

Under New Business, The council reviewed the Emergency Plan. Mayor Olimb made a motion to adopt the Emergency Plan; the motion carried.

The council reviewed SUMAssure before Councillor Midgette made a motion to renew the plan; motion carried.

The council reviewed a letter from the Administrator of intended retirement due to legislation changes. Mayor Olimb accepted Administrator Busch’s letter of intent; motion carried.

Mayor Olimb next addressed the Council saying, “This council should be proud of the success we have achieved with the hurdles experienced by this council.” Mayor Olimb thanked the waterworks worker Shane Wagner for his “stepping up” and doing a great job he then thanked the council.

Finally, Mayor Olimb adjourned the meeting.
