SASKATOON — The Saskatoon Police Services seized a wide array of illegal substances during the arrest of a 39-year-old man in connection to a drug trafficking investigation.

The SPS Crime Reduction Team, with assistance from the Tactical Support Unit, arrested the man June 2 in the 400 block of Ludlow Street. He was suspected to be trafficking cocaine and methamphetamine, and had access to firearms, according to police.

A search of the man recovered a loaded sawed-off shotgun and various quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, buff, cannabis, a variety of pills, drug packaging, scale, a cellphone and $40 cash.

CRT investigators and TSU officers were then authorized for a search warrant at a residence in Waldheim. The subsequent search recovered firearms, ammunition, body armour, six cellphones, packaging and scales and other items indicative of drug trafficking, police say.
