Meal of baked ham and scalloped potatoes to raise money for improvement to the Kamsack Playhouse

Hungry folks need not worry what’s for supper on February 28 because that’s the day the board of the Kamsack Playhouse will be serving a meal of baked ham and scalloped potatoes.

As a fundraiser for the Playhouse, the meal will be served at the Kamsack Legion Hall, probably in two seatings: 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The meal, which will be prepared and served by board members, will include all the regular “fixings.”

“We need to raise money for the Playhouse,” said Jack Koreluik, the board’s promotions and advertising co-ordinator for this project.

“We have to remove the building’s old furnace and will have to repair the roof over that furnace,” Koreluik said, adding that it’s a mystery of how the roof will look after the furnace is removed. “We don’t know what structural damage we may find.”

In addition to the roof issue, Koreluik said new flooring is needed in the front entrance and some areas need fresh paint.

Advance tickets to the fundraiser cost $20 each, he said. They may be purchased from any board member and from The Glass Door Jewellery.

Serving on the board with Koreluik are: Michelle Irvine (president), Crystal Fissel (treasurer), Brenda Wyllychuk, Michelle Tomochko, Odaria Moline and Dustin Wilson.
