Pieces of art created by two residents of the Kamsack Nursing Home are being featured in a display of items being sold by silent auction to raise money for Telemiracle.
Near the main entrance to the home is a display of items that will be acquired next week by silent auction. In addition to the Telemiracle Teddy mascot, caps, and the Telemiracle Helping Hands on display is Bird on a Wire, a coloured-pencil drawing by Lyle Ferguson, and a paint-by-numbers scene completed by Lloyd Miller.
The auction closes on March 2, said Karen Rubletz, the home’s recreation co-ordinator.
The Kinsmen Foundation, through donations to Telemiracle, assists Saskatchewan people to acquire special needs equipment and access to medical treatment.On March 5 and6, Telemiracle 40 will be presented live from the Conexus Arts Centre in Regina and broadcast on CTV stations across Saskatchewan beginning at 8 p.m.
“We thought having the work of Lyle and Lloyd auctioned would be a great asset to our Telemiracle fundraiser,” Rubletz said.
Originally of Theodore, Ferguson, a farmer, has been a resident of the Kamsack Nursing Home since the beginning of this year.
Although he has painted many pieces in the past, he now restricts his work to coloured pencils.
