Peewee team off to second round of provincials

The Preeceville Peewee Pats continue their race for the provincial C title. The first game in a set of two games was hosted in Wadena against the Wadena Wildcats on January 26. The series was based on a point basis not wins.

The Preeceville Peewee Pats continue their race for the provincial C title. The first game in a set of two games was hosted in Wadena against the Wadena Wildcats on January 26. The series was based on a point basis not wins.

            The Pats brought their game and controlled it from the beginning to the end. The final score was 12-7 and gave the Pats a five-point advantage going into the second game that was hosted in Preeceville on January 27.

            Scoring for Preeceville were: Todd Pankratz (two goals), Dustin Shankowsky (four goals), Seth Hort (two goals), Kaiden Masley, Jakob Turchinetz and Trever Geistlinger (two goals). Assists were by Todd Pankrtaz, Camron Secundiak, Shae Peterson, Dustin Shankowsky, Kaiden Masley and Jakob Turchintez.

            The second game was hosted in Preeceville on January 27 and ended with an 8-2 win that earned the Pats the opportunity to advance to the second round of provincials.

Scoring for the Pats were: Jakub Turchinetz (two goals), Matheson Petryshyn, Todd Pankratz, Brynn Babiuk, Kaiden Masley, Seth Hort and Trever Gesitlinger. Assists were by Christian Acosta, Jakob Turchinetz, Kaiden Masley, Dustin Shankowsky, Trever Geistlinger, Kaiden Masley, Camron Secundiak and Todd Pankratz.

            The next set of games will be held against Watrous. The first game is scheduled for February 5 in Watrous with the return game to be held in Preeceville on February 7.

The Pats also took on Melville in home game action during a regular season play on January 24. The final score ended in a win for the Pats 7-4. Scoring were, Trever Geistlinger (2 goals), Todd Pankratz (2 goals), Dustin Shankowsky (2 goals) and Brynn Babiuk. Assists were made by Brynn Babiuk, Todd Pankratz, Jillian Tonn, Trever Geistlinger and Shae Peterson.
