Police are looking for a Norquay man wanted on several Criminal Code warrants.

On February 16, RCMP Media Relations issued a press release saying Kamsack RCMP were seeking the public’s assistance in locating Wayne M. Babiuk of Norquay.

Shortly after 1 p.m. on February 16, Kamsack RCMP received a complaint of an incident of break and enter at a rural residence northwest of the community of Swan Plain, according to a release from the RCMP.

The residence and a vehicle were damaged by a baseball bat and threats were made to the homeowners and police, the release said. Two firearms were reported stolen from the residence.

The victims and Babiuk are known to each other, it said. The victims were not physically injured as a result of the incident.

As a result of the investigation, Babiuk was charged with: one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle; one count of mischief; two counts of uttering death threats; one count of break and enter; one count of possessing firearms, and six counts of breach of undertaking.

Babiuk, 41, who was described as being six feet in height, weighing 200 pounds and has brown hair and green eyes, was said to be “armed and dangerous.”

“Do not approach him,” the release said.

“He may be operating a red 1998 Ford F150 super cab four-wheel drive truck with the Saskatchewan licence plate: 077-HTP.”

Babiuk is known to live a transient lifestyle and it would not be uncommon for him to take shelter in sheds and abandoned buildings, the release said.
