Preeceville dancers bring home medals from Wadena competition

Members of the Studio Dance One Club in Preeceville brought home numerous medals from the Wadena Dance Kraze competition on March 11 and 12.

            Members of the Studio Dance One Club in Preeceville brought home numerous medals from the Wadena Dance Kraze competition on March 11 and 12.

            "All the dancers did really well and showed great talent," said Shauna Walters, Preeceville dance group organizer.

            There were 10 dance groups represented at the Dance Kraze competition: Studio Dance One of Preeceville, Annaheim, Englefeld, Invermay, Foam Lake, Quill Lake, Kelvington, Muenster, Watson, Spalding, Raymore, Rose Valley, Porcupine, Three Lakes, New Direction, and Wadena.

            Gold medals were won by dancers from the ballet two class for their ballet performance. Dancers were Jenna Anaka, Saphira Anaka and Maggie Bartel.

            Hannah Gerbrandt and Emerson Strykowski won gold for their hip hop performance.

            The tap four class won gold for their unique tap dance. Dancers were Katryna Englot, Kiera Balyski, Olivia Chornomitz, Mia Mitchell and Chloe Chornomitz.

            Silver medals were won by: the jazz two dancers Kacey Heskin, Brooklyn Reber, Bryanna Hartl and Maggie Bartel; the jazz one duo of Macey Mitchell and Mackenna Firman, and the tap two dancers Izzy Payette, Saphira Anaka, Jenna Anaka, Kacey Heskin,  Ally Apland and Bryanna Hartl.

            Bronze medals were won by: the ballet three dancers Emerson Strykowski, Addison Danielson and Paje Reynolds; the jazz five dancers Kirsten Murray, Olivia Chornomitz and Hannah Gerbrandt; the jazz four dancers Chloe Chornomitz, Mia Mitchell, Kiera Balyski and Katryna Englot, and the tap three dancers Maggie Bartel, Emerson Strykowski, Addison Danielson and Alexis Firman.

            Lyrical solos were performed by Rowan Prestie and Hannah Gerbrandt.
