Ever wonder what it's like to be a winner?  Ask lifetime Rama area farmer, Mike Shewchuk. Mike was a $1 Million Lotto 6/49 winner on the February 4 guaranteed prize draw. He also won $10 on the same ticket by matching three of the six main numbers on another draw.

Mike got the thrill of a lifetime when he checked his ticket at a store in Canora. He plans to take a trip to see the mountains and do some house renovations.

Mike and his wife Marcella farm near Rama. The lucky ticket was purchased at the lottery kiosk at the Rama C Store.

It's a Saskatchewan thing! Ring those phones! Invermay School raised money for Telemiracle 41 by putting on a Luau Carnival on March 3. The carnival and barbecue raised $1,678. Teachers and students came dressed in Hawaiian apparel, played carnival games and enjoyed a hamburger/hotdog lunch to help raise money for Telemiracle.

Area residents woke up to a miserable Tuesday as Mother Nature reminded us that winter is still here. Blowing snow, wind gusts and low visibility caused school bus cancellations on Tuesday and Wednesday of last week.
