Rawhides host car show

Rawhides in Stenen hosted its fourth annual car show Sunday. The well-known restaurant had an area of its campground set up for the annual car-show and shine, with its stage set up with artists playing ‘60’s music all afternoon.

The well-known restaurant had an area of its campground set up for the annual car-show and shine, with its stage set up with artists playing ‘60’s music all afternoon.

This year they were just shy of having 100 entries, with 85-90 cars and trucks attending the event organized by Ken Mckay with the help of Kevin Hawbig.

The vehicles came from near and far including many from Manitoba, as well as from within Saskatchewan communities including; Yorkton, Melville, Watson, Saskatoon, Melfort, Coronach and of course local Stenen area entries.

Trophies were given out in seven categories:

Best Chevrolet - 1968 Chev Chevelle, Bill and Linda Wenarchuk

Best Ford - 1968 Ford Torino, Zach Machan

Best Dodge - 1970 Barracuda Plymouth, Sid Roenspies

Best Truck - 1953 Merc M350, Bruce Brandson

Best Rat Rod - 1929 Essex Rat, Rod Pieter Boerma

Best Motorcycle - 1965 Kawasaki J1T, Karlee Boychuk

People’s Choice Award - 1968 Chev Chevelle, Bill and Linda Wenarchuk
