STURGIS — The Sturgis Composite High School class of '85 celebrated their 40th anniversary with a tour of th school on June 6, followed by a get-together at the Black Bear Inn in Sturgis.
"The plans were done on short notice — many people who expressed a desire to attend were not able to, unfortunately. We had a really great time — sitting and visiting for several hours, with lots of reminiscing of school days' stories. We'd like to thank Katrina Wasylenchuk who took significant time to give us a fabulous tour of the school, which has seen two major renovations since we left there in 1985, including the completion of the new addition, as well as making the school a K to 12 facility," said Fraces Olson, organizer.
"Seven of us, plus significant others, were in attendance; we had approximately 57 people in our graduating class, but we have not had a reunion since 1995.
"Thank you to everyone who helped organize and contact fellow graduates, including passing information along via social media. We apologize as we were not able to contact everyone," concluded Olson.
