Riverside Golf Course opens for the season in good condition

Riverside Golf Course at Kamsack opened for the 2016 season on April 15 in good condition, said Ken Cymbalisty, who began his 25 th year as the manager of the course.

On the tee-off at Riverside Golf Course on Friday, the first time on the course this year, were former Nova Scotia resident Don Wells and Claudia Whitehawk of Cote First Nation.

            Riverside Golf Course at Kamsack opened for the 2016 season on April 15 in good condition, said Ken Cymbalisty, who began his 25th year as the manager of the course.

            “The greens wintered well and we’re going to turn the water system on today,” Cymbalisty said on Friday. “We’ll be fertilizing the greens and fairways next week.”

            Cymbalisty said he expects that club membership will exceed last year’s which was about 140 persons.

            New at the clubhouse this year is a wing night every Thursday and a steak night every Friday, he said. The club’s men’s night started April 19, and the women’s night was to begin yesterday (May 4).
