The Saskatchewan Rush have acquired Tristan Rai and a 2023 2nd Round Draft Pick from the New England Black Wolves in exchange for Tanner Thomson.

Rai was selected in the Fifth Round (70th overall) in the 2019 NLL Entry Draft. The right-handed forward was born in Edmonton, AB, and stands at 6’ 0”, 195 lbs. Rai attended Lehigh University, where he posted four straight 40+ point seasons with the Mountain Hawks. In 4 NLL games with the Black Wolves this season, Rai has been held off the score sheet but has 5 LB and 8 SOG.

“I’ve always liked Tristan Rai. I had an opportunity to coach him in Jr. A. Great kid. Great character. I like his versatility. Our right side O is very deep, especially with the play of Austin Murphy of late. Tristan has the ability to play out either door and adds depth to our roster.“ - Derek Keenan, Head Coach and General Manager, Saskatchewan Rush

The Rush are back in action Friday evening, as they visit Calgary to face-off against the Roughnecks. Catch all the action on B/R Live, starting at 7:30PM.
