On Sept. 1, at approximately 11:40 a.m., St. Walburg RCMP received the report of the discovery of the body of a male located along Range Road 3253, North West of St. Walburg, Saskatchewan.
The male was confirmed to be deceased upon the arrival of the RCMP and EMS.
Officers secured the scene and requested the Coroner and additional RCMP resources including the North Battleford Forensic Identification Services and Major Crimes Unit North to assist with a thorough examination of the scene.
The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Tyrell Shane Lee Littlewolfe from the Onion Lake Cree Nation. His next of kin have been notified and provided with Victim Services.
A forensic autopsy is taking place in Saskatoon on September 3, 2020.
Preliminary investigation has led police to consider his death as being suspicious and they suspect foul play.
Police are asking anyone who was in contact with Tyrell Shane Lee Littlewolfe between August 31 and September 1, 2020, to call the RCMP at 306-710-7267 (RCMP) or their local police service. Any information is valuable and can assist police with determining the circumstances of his death and help to identify the person(s) responsible.
