Saskatoon: Garage fire causes $25K in damage

The cause of the garage fire is undetermined.

SASKATOON — The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Tuesday, Feb. 21, in the 100 block of Makaroff Road.

SFD dispatch received the call at 11:44 a.m. and sent three fire engines, one ladder truck, a rescue unit and the battalion chief to the scene.

First arriving crews saw a double-detached garage fully involved and immediately worked on exterior fire suppression.

Firefighters entered the garage where a vehicle and its contents were fully involved in the fire, which was controlled at 12:11 p.m.

The fire investigator concluded the fire, which caused an estimated $25,000 in damage, started inside the garage. The cause was undetermined. 

No occupants were inside the garage at the time of the fire and no injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported.
