SASKATOON — The citizens of Saskatoon have once again shown their generosity, as the annual Pancake Breakfast event exceeded all expectations, raising an impressive sum of $11,118 for the United Way-Saskatoon and Area.
Last week, 1,156 pancake and sausage breakfasts, accompanied by plenty of steaming hot coffee, were served to the enthusiastic attendees, volunteers, and valued sponsors of the 47th edition of this cherished tradition. This remarkable achievement surpasses last year's donation by an outstanding $1,335.
In a heartwarming display of compassion, attendees of the breakfast event demonstrated their commitment to kindness by purchasing and donating 133 "Act of Kindness Breakfasts" to the Kindness Board.
These thoughtful contributions ensured 100 individuals could enjoy a warm breakfast on that memorable day. The spirit of giving continues to thrive in Saskatoon, with 83 Act of Kindness tickets donated last year. Let's applaud the city's commendable efforts, confident that the momentum for the Kindness Board, sponsored by the Saskatoon City Employees Credit Union, will only grow stronger each year.
