Update: Saskatoon police arrest Alberta man in assault investigation

SASKTOON — Update, Dec. 15: A 47-year-old man, who was the subject of an arrest warrant in Saskatoon, is now in custody.

On Dec. 14, 47-year-old Kenneth Dauphinais was arrested after turning himself in to the Saskatoon Police Service.  He has been charged with Sexual Assault and Overcoming Resistance to Commission of Offence.

The Saskatoon Police Service would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance in this matter.

Background Dec. 13: The Saskatoon Police Service is seeking public assistance in locating a 47-year-old Alberta man, wanted in connection with an historical sexual assault. 

Kenneth Dauphinais has resided most recently in Milk River, Alta., however he has ties to Saskatoon, Calgary, Alta. and to Winnipeg, Man., and his whereabouts are unknown at this time.  An arrest warrant has been issued for Dauphinais in connection to the sexual assaults of a woman in Saskatoon between 2007 and 2008. He may also be active on online dating websites. 

 Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Dauphinais is asked to contact the SPS at 306-975-8300, their local law enforcement agency or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
