Santa Claus made a special trip to Preeceville on December 11, taking time out of his busy schedule to visit with children in the Preeceville and Sturgis area.
Santa sat for a short time on a special chair, had children tell him what they secretly wanted for Christmas, and passed out treat bags. Santa took the opportunity to strap on a pair of skates and skate with many children and adults in attendance at the Skate with Santa event at the Preeceville Skating Arena.
When Santa took to the ice, he was swarmed by children and adults alike, all wanting to skate alongside him before he had to return to the North Pole. He paused numerous times to listen to children’s requests and for a few pictures taken on the ice, much to the delight of the children. Santa was even encouraged to play a game of tag while on the ice.
Hot dogs, hot chocolate and treat bags were provided by Crossroads Credit Union and the Preeceville EDC.
