Sturgis Kindergarten class ready for Grade 1

Youngest super stars achieve first year of school in Sturgis.

STURGIS - Shaylynne David, the Sturgis Composite School kindergarten teacher, bid farewell to her students in the special kindergarten graduation ceremony held in the gymnasium on June 20.

Students were introduced as they walked to the stage. Members of the Sturgis Composite School kindergarten class were: Hudson Babiarz, Sophia Boyko, Kasyn Chernyk, Ian Foster, Bentley Lario, Anthony Prokulevich, Cruz Russell, Sawyer Salisbury, Hailey Seghers, Avery Storoschuk, Lucas Thiessen, Chance Will and Aspen Zilch.

"Good morning and welcome to everyone joining us today to celebrate the 2024 kindergarten Class of Sturgis Composite School, began David. “These students have shown growth in many areas, including friendships, independence, problem solving skills, and academic abilities as well.”

During the program the students sang two songs, We Will Rock You and The Kindergarten Class. Their teacher recited a poem prior to a slide show presentation and presentations of diplomas.

The afternoon concluded with cupcakes and refreshments.
