Three charged with forcible confinement in Saskatoon

SASKATOON — Serious assault investigators with the Saskatoon Police Service have charged three people after a woman reported being assaulted and forcibly confined over the weekend.

On Jan. 2, Sunday, a 31-year-old woman reported she had been assaulted and forcibly confined inside an apartment in the 1700 block of 22nd Street West since the early morning hours of Jan. 1.

She managed to escape and went to the hospital to receive treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have charged an 18-year-old man and two women, ages 23 and 42, with forcible confinement, aggravated assault, and robbery with violence.

The 18-year-old man and 23-year-old woman have been arrested. A warrant was requested for the arrest of the 42-year-old woman. 

The investigation revealed that the victim and persons charged knew each other.
