At a flat fee of $1, the town will be leasing several parcels of agricultural land to the Canora and District Health Care Foundation for a major farming fundraiser in 2016-2017.
The Foundation was provided much of the town’s agricultural land for a similar fundraiser in the 2014 cropping year. The fundraiser proved to be enormously successful with most of the inputs and labour donated.
The land parcels to be leased include: 50 acres situated on NE 30-30-3-W2nd; 55 acres situated on SW 30-30-3-W2nd; the west half of Sec 25 Twp 30 Rge 4 West of 2nd Meridian; 22 acres situated on NW 30-30-3-W2nd; 60 acres situated on NE 31-30-3 W2nd; 30 acres situated on SW 31-30-3-W2nd; 26 acres situated on SE 36-30-4-W2nd; 80 acres situated on SW 36-30-4-W2nd; and 20 acres situated on Block Q, Plan 77Y05780.
Town council approved the rental agreement during the January 19 meeting.
