Wakaw RCMP: Fatal motor vehicle collision

On Nov. 18, 2019, at approximately 9:13 a.m., Wakaw RCMP responded to the report of a two vehicle collision approximately two kilometers north of Wakaw on Highway 2.

A 19-year-old female driver, and lone occupant of the car driving south was declared deceased on scene.

A 58-year-old male driver of the SUV driving north, was taken to hospital by EMS for what were reported to be serious injuries. A female youth passenger was also in the vehicle and was uninjured.

EMS, Saskatchewan RCMP Traffic Reconstructionist, Wakaw Fire Department, Saskatchewan Coroners Service, and Prince Albert Victim Services all attended the scene.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor at this time. Road conditions were wet and visibility was clear at the time of the collision.

The cause of the collision has yet to be determined.

The investigation is ongoing.
