Kamsack town council adopted a policy to deal with the return of confiscated recycle carts at the regular meeting on April 9.

The Sturgis branch of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation (SWF) honoured avid hunters and fishers at the annual banquet and trophy night on April 14 at the Sturgis Community Hall.

The Trent Paul Memorial Spirit Award, dedicated to honour the passion and spirit of Trent Paul, was recently awarded to first-year pharmacy student Japheth Bool. Bool is enrolled in the College of Pharmacy program at the University of Saskatchewan.

Canora Composite School was the site of the Parkland Music Festival Showcase Concert on April 6. Gillian Rice, corresponding secretary for the festival, opened the evening by congratulating festival participants for their fine performances.

Staff, students and guests gathered in the Chief Gabriel Cote Education Complex gymnasium on April 12 to pay tribute to Humboldt and the Broncos hockey team.

The Barveenok Ukrainian Dance Club hosted its annual spring concert with the talent of the many dancers showcased at the Sturgis Composite High School on April 15. Sheila Klebeck was the emcee and welcomed everyone.

On April 8, the Canora Civic Centre was the site of a candle-lit vigil organized by the Canora Minor Hockey Association to show support for the Humboldt Broncos, hit by tragedy only two nights earlier.

Students from the Grade 6 classes at Kamsack Comprehensive Institute went on a fishing trip to Miracle Lake near Norquay on March 26.
