Minor injuries, major damage in accident

With snow melting all around, leaving brown patches on what should have been a clean, crisp, cold snow-covered landscape, organizers of the Togo snowmobile derbies on February 19 were worried.

The warm weather and melting snow experienced last week has resulted in a reversal of fortune for the area’s two major winter outdoor activities, the Duck Mountain Loppet and the Duck Mountain ski hill.

“Am I Being Unfair to You?” That’s the question being asked by the World Day of Prayer committee of The Philippines and will be part of the service being held in the evening at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Kamsack tomorrow (Friday).

Seven students have graduated from a 10-week housing maintenance/essential skills program that was held at Keeseekoose First Nation.

A team of Russ Brunt and John Adamyk placed first in the Kamsack Seniors Centre whist competitions for the month of February. A team of Joyce MacLean and Joanna Zychkowski placed second.

Changes in the medical services committee and a donation for the nursing home gazebo project were among items to concern town council at its regular meeting on February 13.

This is Freedom to Read Week (February 26 to March 4) and one way that the week is being celebrated is to read what one wants. That’s what the readers’ group at the Kamsack Library has done.
