The TD Canada Trust Preeceville branch helped the 606 Harvard Squadron air cadets towards the purchase of a highway coach bus. The bank presented the squadron with a $1,000 donation on November 23.

The Sturgis School Community Council hosted its annual general meeting that focused discussions on the consolidation of the two schools. The meeting was chaired by Janice Beatty, chairperson for School Community Council, on November 24.

A Kamsack entrepreneur, a Preeceville liquor store employee and a Co-op store in Canora have been selected to operate the liquor stores in those three communities.

The Parkland Music Festival is scheduled to be hosted in the Preeceville and Sturgis areas from March 26 to April 1, 2017. "It is our turn this year to host the festival," said Anna Russell, president.

Hunting has changed greatly in the past number of years with many more people using vehicles to help them with their success rate. Aside from trucks, hunters are now using ATVs, side-by-sides, amphibious vehicles and even horses.
