The Preeceville Pats Midget hockey players were acknowledged with awards for their dedication and hard work through the 2019-20 season. The season was cut short and ended with players not being acknowledged due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was a great final weekend for the 15U AAA East Central Mils baseball teams. The Mils, a team made up of players from a number of area communities, faced the 15U AAA Moose Jaw Canucks in one Semi-Final Saturday in Balcarres.

The Yorkton Terriers, and the other teams in the SJHL, are sitting in limbo. Since COVID-19 caused the early end of the 2019-20 season, the team has been unable to host many of their traditional fundraisers, and now sits with a major money problem.

Mandatory, non-medical mask or face coverings for all people entering the Kinsmen Arena will be in place, effective Sept 15th, until such time as the Public Health order recommending mask or face covering use within two metres, is lifted.

It was a tough end to a beautiful day in Regina for the Yorkton Bantam Raider Gridders on Saturday as the Gridders lost 33-24 to the Regina Stampeders in the Regina Minor Football Bantam Division.

Bomber fans know the team’s maroon and white colours, but they may be seeing two other colours more - red as in red tape and black as in being left in the dark.

The fall season for Yorkton Minor Football kicked-off Saturday afternoon. The first action for the association saw the local Pee Wee Gridders hosting Estevan at Century Field, with kick-off a 2 p.m.

It was a big night for disc golfer Kade Wishnevetski and a profitable one too. Wishnevetski who plays out of Kamsack was in Yorkton for League Night hosted by the Yorkton sub-committee of the Parkland Association of Disc Golf.

Raises nearly $30,000

A bass fishing event is coming to Boundary Dam this month, but it will be different from what people are used to. Bass Battles, sponsored by Tourism Estevan, is a catch photo release event that will be held from Sept. 18-27.
