The Yorkton Cardinals experienced the exhilarating highs of victory and the crushing lows of defeat in back-to-back home games on Sunday and Monday.

Austin Skelhorn is a pitcher with the Yorkton Cardinals, a team in the Western Major Baseball League (WMBL), which is a summer league for collegiate baseball players.

The annual Charity Golf Classic for the Health Foundation was held last week with 116 participants raising $66,147.

It took nine games, but the Yorkton Cardinals have a win in the Western Major Baseball League this season. The Cardinals finally found a victory Monday night against rival Melville amid rain delays which extended the game to near 11 p.m.

The Canora Supers of the Southeast Senior Baseball League (SESBL) played three games in a week which included an easy win, a tense one-run loss and another loss where the bats never really showed up.

Athletes from Canora Composite School (CCS) did well at the district track-and-field competition in Yorkton on May 23 and 24, with a number of top-ten finishes.
