There were 170 taekwondo competitors who filled the Nexera Flexihall at the Gallagher Centre in Yorkton on Saturday. It was the 19th annual Prairie Wildfire Taekwondo Challenge.

With the warmer months approaching – though maybe not quickly enough – the summer sports programs are getting ready for the 2017 season. Among these sports is baseball. This year, there’s a new president of Yorkton Minor Baseball - Brian Murray.

Paul Bzdel was born and raised in Saskatoon. The 31-year-old enjoys playing sports like hockey and baseball, like many people in Saskatchewan. But his passion lies with a sport that isn’t incredibly popular in the province – boxing.

The Yorkton RawTec Maulers of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League held their annual spring camp last weekend.

Last weekend, the Bongos 14U men’s volleyball team took part in provincials in Saskatoon. The team went undefeated through the round robin play and won the 1/2 seeding playoff match which sent them to the quarter final against Rose Valley.
