The Saskatchewan Roughriders vs. Montreal Alouettes game on Saturday wasn't pretty. It entailed more sloppy plays than a peewee football game. But in the end, a win is a win. And a late Chris Milo field goal lifted the Riders to a 24-21 victory.

If you wanted to take part in Jason Gordon's Hockey 1st Skills Academy this past week at the Gallagher Centre, you had to be on the ball. The eighth annual hockey camp sold out back in April with 96 athletes lacing up the skates.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders came back down to earth on Friday in their first loss of the year at the hands of the Calgary Stampeders. Saskatchewan fell 42-27 to the Stamps in McMahon Stadium following falling behind by 13 in the first quarter.

The Yorkton Storm Speed Swim Club concluded their season by attending the Mike Mintenko 47th Annual LC Summerfest Invitational and "A" Provincial/Junior Cup Swim Meet in Moose Jaw. Twenty-one swimmers from the club took part in the meet.

Yorkton's own Josh Duerksen and Kennedy Lutz (pictured above) headed to Tennessee last week to compete at the prestigious Amateur National Motocross Championships held at country star Loretta Lynn's ranch July 29 - August 4.

Yorkton's Joseph Sliva is going to trade in his Cardinals uniform for an Indians jersey on August 16. He was invited to play for the Swift Current Indians in the Western Peewee 'AA' Baseball Championship Tournament.

Becky Wallis returned to Canada from the 2013 World Women Championship of football in Finland with a silver medal around her neck. "It was a fantastic experience," said Wallis who plays for the Regina Riot in WWCFL.
