The Sacred Heart Saints made Melville a very comfortable place to play over the weekend. Normally, enemy territory is an unfriendly place to play, but SHHS performed very well this past weekend at the MCS.

The Yorkton Harvest appeared to put forth a better effort on a road trip to Tisdale last Thursday evening, outshooting the Trojans 28-24. Tisdale had a stronger showing in the last two periods where they scored three times in each.

Five members of the Sacred Heart Cross Country team attended provincials in Middle Lake, Saskatchewan on Saturday, October 15. These girls included: Brooke Mentanko, Emily Kruger, Rita Fetsch, Dakota Chippley-Mitchell and Brooke Morgan.

The Yorkton Gridders rolled into Regina on a windy Saturday afternoon and were hit hard by Thunder. They survived the winds storm but not the ensuing Thunderstorm.

There have been some weird things happening in the world of sports over the past couple weeks or so. Not the least of which happened over the long weekend when Tiger Woods was pelted with a hot dog while lining up to make a shot.

The Harvest skated into Swift Current Saturday afternoon. They looked just fine until the third period. Yorkton jumped out to a 2-0 lead by the end of the second period on goals by Lynnden Pastachak and Nicholas Pouliot.

The Yorkton Terriers took it on the chin on the weekend losing both ends of a Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League home-and-home set with Melville.

The Sacred Heart junior girls basketball team headed off to Weyburn recently to play in a 12-team tournament, said coach Brian Chisholm.

There was at least one local finish in each of the 16 categories at the 27th Annual Autumn Summit Cross Country Run. It was held at the Saltcoats Regional Park late in September.

Anyone that reads my reviews of CDs or boardgames will already know I am proudly supportive of Canadian efforts. It's no different in terms of golf discs too.
