Derek Marshall and Mackenzie Alcorn both went to Nevada recently to compete in a baseball tournament called the Desert Classic, representing Saskatchewan and Canada in their divisions. Both players participated on Team Saskatoon.

The Cab Clothing Yorkton Regional High School Female Athlete of the Month for October is Avery Westberg. Westberg has been on the 80 and above honor roll since Gr. 9. She has been involved in the S.R.C.

Kees Yorkton took three athletes to a training camp and tournament at the Mexican national taekwondo training centre at La Loma, in San Luis Potosi from Oct. 28-Nov. 3. The Yorkton athletes were Matthew Bodnaryk, Autumn Ashcroft and Francis Bazin.

The September male athlete of the month is a member of the Sacred Heart Football team. He's got size, strength and speed that have made him a force to be dealt with.

The Junior 'A' Yorkton Terriers are also currently enduring their longest trip away from home ice. The team just came off a weekend matchup in Flin Flon where both clubs traded victories.

The Yorkton Harvest AAA hockey club continues the longest road trip of their season. They came off a 6-1 loss at Notre Dame last Thursday and are scheduled to play at Tisdale tonight (Nov. 10).

For the second straight weekend volleyball tournament, they made the final game. For the second straight weekend, they played on their hometown court. And for the second straight weekend, they dominated, almost until the final match.

For long suffering hockey fans in Toronto, it was beginning to seem as though they were finally starting to get things right. That was quite a long time ago.

The Yorkton New Holland Rodeo took place as part of the 2010 Grain Millers Harvest Showdown Friday and Saturday at the Farrell Agencies Arena. The rodeo was marked with a mini chuckwagon race and a mustang show (below, right).

The Yorkton Taekwondo Association and KEE's Taekwondo are going to be hosting their 12th Annual Invitational Taekwondo Tournament.
